LUNCHROOM WORKER QUALIFICATIONS
Must comply with all employment criteria legally established by the Lee County Board of Education. Prior experience in a cafeteria preferred. The ability to read and follow instructions. Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of the assigned task. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Background Check Required:
(HB 402 ACT 99-361 Alabama Legislature) Upon offer of employment, employees will be required to submit legible fingerprints for a background review by the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

JOB GOAL
: To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and friendliness. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Applicable to
All Employees:
Attend on a regular and predictable basis. Complete assigned tasks in a safe manner and in a constant state of alertness. Uphold Board policies, including the anti-harassment program. Work in a cooperative manner with students, teachers, staff, supervisors, and the public. Work effectively and efficiently under time and productivity standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist in the preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner. Serve students and staff from the cafeteria counter. Operate cash register. Assume responsibility for ensuring that during meal service periods the supply of food offered is replenished regularly. Assume responsibility for storage and disposal of unused foods. Assist in the daily clean up of the kitchen and service areas, which include, but are not limited to the removal of used dishes and the cleaning of counters, tables, and furnishings in the dining area. Perform major cleaning of refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by the Lunchroom Manager. Maintain the trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion. Perform related duties as required including duties at special meal functions. Other duties as assigned by the CNP Supervisor, Principal, and Superintendent as deemed pertinent to the operation of the cafeteria.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity are required to perform the job functions. Generally the job requires 5% sitting, 50% walking, and 45% standing. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Mental Functions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to compare, analyze, communicate, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills and compile. Occasionally required to copy and negotiate.
ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
The environmental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and functions of the job and are not meant to be all inclusive. (a)The job is performed under some temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness. (b)Exposure to a variety of childhood and adult diseases and illnesses. (c) Occasional exposure to a variety of weather conditions. (d) Exposure to heated/air conditioned and ventilated facilities. (e) Exposure to a building in which a variety of chemical substances are used for cleaning, instruction, and/or operation of equipment. (g) Function in a workplace that can be noisy at times.
EMPLOYMENT
: This is a 184-day position (9 month). Annual salary range is based on board approved salary schedule and comparable full time work experience up to 10 years for 6.0, 6.5, 7.0. or 7.5 hours per day employment.
EVALUATION
: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of Support Personnel.
