About Us During our busy season we are a high volume, fast paced small coastal cafe with a steady stream of tourists and locals. Our kitchen moves fast, especially during breakfast and lunch rushes, and we take pride in serving fresh, high-quality food quickly and consistently. Position Overview We are looking for an experienced Food Prep / Kitchen Assistant who can work efficiently in a small and busy café environment. The ideal candidate is organized, fast, reliable, and comfortable handling prep tasks during high-volume service. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients and assist with food assembly according to established recipes and menu plans Support cooking activities by following proper techniques and safety protocols Assist with fast and accurate food assembly during busy service hours Maintain a clean, organized work station, including dishwashing, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately Support the kitchen team with dishes and general cleaning Qualifications Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations within the food service or restaurant industry Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures Skilled in meal preparation, knife skills, and general culinary techniques Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills and team-oriented attitude!

Pay:

$21.00 - $24.00 per hour
