Job Description

Description:
Under the supervision of the Cafeteria Supervisor, the Food Preparation Worker has limited food preparation duties in cafeteria serving kitchens and coordination duties in readiness to serve student meals.
General Duties:
1. Coordinates the other workers and student workers to help in kitchen. 2. In absence of Cafeteria Supervisor, makes judgment calls on whether more food needs to be prepared. 3. Stores and/or disposes of excess food properly. 4. Operates deep fat fryers, ovens, meat slicer for the purpose of preparing food for breakfast or lunch programs at our school. 5. Keeps kitchen equipment and kitchen area clean. 6. Runs cash register during brunch, wipes out hot carts and refrigerated carts and refrigerators daily. 7. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications 1. High School Diploma or equivalent. 2. Training or equivalent experience in food service. 3. Must be able to lift/carry 58 pounds occasionally, 40 pounds frequently, and 15 pounds constantly.
