Assistant Food and Beverage Manager 2700 Buena Vista Drive, Paso Robles, CA 93446 $70,304 a year - Full-time $70,304 a year - Full-time Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager is a hands-on, energetic leader responsible for overseeing banquet operations, restaurant front-of-house service standards, bar operations, and in-room dining. As part of an expanding Food & Beverage program within a AAA Four Diamond resort, this is an exciting opportunity for a motivated hospitality professional to grow their career within a luxury resort environment. This role works closely with the Director of F&B and Restaurant Manager to ensure exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, and financial success across all dining outlets. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, refined hospitality experience, and a passion for delivering elevated service standards. The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager will actively support and uphold the standards and concepts of Cello Restaurant, banquet events, and in-room dining while developing team members, maintaining service consistency, and contributing to the continued growth and success of the resort. Qualifications & Skills Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of restaurant and banquet management experience, preferably in a high-volume luxury hotel or resort environment with Forbes or AAA Four/Five Diamond standards Proven ability to deliver an elevated dining experience in a variety of service settings Strong wine and beverage knowledge Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience with a focus on team development Knowledge of California liquor laws, health department regulations, and TIPS certification Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and professionalism Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced or challenging guest situations Strong analytical and financial management skills Experience with: Hiring and onboarding Staff training and coaching Scheduling and labor management Inventory and liquor control Performance evaluations Preferred Qualifications College degree in Hospitality, Business Management, or related field Experience with Food & Beverage POS systems Additional hospitality or beverage certifications Essential Duties & Responsibilities Lead banquet operations and ensure AAA Four Diamond service standards are consistently upheld Support daily operations of restaurant, bar, banquet, and in-room dining services Partner with the Director of F&B and Restaurant Manager to enhance service standards and guest experiences Monitor financial performance, labor costs, inventory, and departmental budgets Develop and implement staff training, coaching, and performance development programs Ensure consistent quality of food, beverage, and guest service delivery Oversee scheduling to ensure proper staffing levels and operational efficiency Manage liquor, wine, and supply inventory controls Handle guest concerns professionally and effectively Maintain compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service regulations Conduct daily walk-throughs to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and service standards Support special events, entertainment programs, and holiday operations Foster a positive team culture and maintain strong employee relations Respond appropriately to emergency and safety situations Assist with additional projects and operational needs as assigned Why Join Us Opportunity for career growth within an expanding luxury resort operation Be part of a respected AAA Four Diamond property committed to elevated guest experiences Collaborative leadership environment focused on development and advancement Fast-paced, team-oriented culture with opportunities to make a direct impact Physical & Work Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift and carry moderate weight as needed Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
