Grand Hyatt San Francisco is seeking a hands-on and service-focused Assistant Food & Beverage Operations Manager to support the daily operations of the hotel's food and beverage division. This role is responsible for assisting with the execution of restaurant, bar, lounge, banquet, event, and other food and beverage operations while ensuring exceptional service, colleague engagement, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate has strong food and beverage experience, understands the flow of hotel operations, and isfortable supporting multiple outlets and business levels. This position requires a visible floor presence, strongmunication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead colleagues through both daily service and high-volume events. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the daily operations of the hotel's food and beverage outlets, including restaurants, bars, lounges, banquets, events, and other assigned service areas.
  • Support the Food & Beverage leadership team in maintaining consistent service standards and operational excellence.
  • Provide hands-on leadership during meal periods, events, peak business levels, and high-volume service periods.
  • Monitor service flow, guest satisfaction, colleague performance, cleanliness, product quality, and overall outlet presentation.
  • Lead pre-shift meetings andmunicate daily priorities, hotel updates, menu information, service expectations, and event details.
  • Coach, train, and support food and beverage colleagues to ensure service standards are met.
  • Assist with scheduling, labor tracking, payroll review, staffing plans, and daily deployment of colleagues.
  • Support opening and closing procedures, side workpletion, cash handling procedures, and shift accountability.
  • Partner with culinary, stewarding, events, sales, front office, housekeeping, engineering, and security teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist with banquet and event execution, including room readiness, service timing, staffing, guest/client requests, and post-event follow-up.
  • Support restaurant and bar operations, including table service, beverage service, responsible alcohol service, product knowledge, inventory, and guest engagement.
  • Respond to guest concerns and service opportunities promptly, professionally, and with appropriate follow-up.
  • manage supply levels, equipment needs, inventories, ordering, and operational readiness.
  • Ensurepliance with health department regulations, food safety requirements, sanitation standards, alcohol service laws, hotel policies, and safety procedures.
  • Review guest feedback, service scores, and operational trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Promote a positive, respectful, inclusive, and accountable team environment.
  • Support special events, VIP experiences, holiday programming, promotional activations, and hotel initiatives as needed.
  • Act as a food and beverage leader on duty when assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Food & Beverage leadership. This is a salaried position withpensation ranging from $73,600

  • Previous food and beverage supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Experience in hotel food and beverage operations strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting restaurants, bars, banquets, events, or multiple outlets preferred.
  • Strong guest service,munication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead colleagues in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment.
  • Strong floor presence with the ability to support service execution in real time.
  • Knowledge of restaurant service, bar operations, banquet service, event execution, and hotel operations preferred.
  • Basic understanding of labor management, inventory, cost control, revenue awareness, and daily operational reporting preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with culinary, stewarding, events, and hotel operations teams.
  • Stronganizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting business needs.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, responsible alcohol service, and applicable local regulations.
  • Proficiency with point-of-sale systems, scheduling tools, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and event-based hours.
