Position Summary Pagosa Springs Medical Center (PSMC) is seeking a dependable, customer-focused Nutritional Services Worker to join our Dietary Services team. This position supports the preparation, service, and delivery of meals for patients, staff, and visitors while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and customer service. Responsibilities include food preparation, tray assembly, meal delivery, cafeteria operations, dishwashing, inventory support, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Meaningful work supporting patient healing and recovery Opportunity to interact with patients, staff, and visitors daily Collaborative and supportive work environment Variety of responsibilities throughout the kitchen and cafeteria Stable healthcare employment with opportunities for growth Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & Service Assist with preparation of meals according to standardized recipes and menus Prepare and portion food items according to dietary guidelines and portion controls Label and manage special dietary items appropriately Stock and prepare short-order menu items Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and rotation procedures Monitor food temperatures and ensure compliance with HACCP guidelines Patient Meal Service Assemble patient trays accurately according to diet orders Deliver meals to patient rooms in a professional and friendly manner Educate and assist patients as appropriate Pick up meal trays and transport tray carriers throughout the facility Ensure meals are delivered accurately and on time Cafeteria Operations Assist customers with food selections Operate the cash register and process transactions Take customer orders and provide excellent customer service Stock cafeteria supplies and dining areas Maintain a clean, welcoming dining environment for staff and visitors Sanitation & Safety Wash, sanitize, and maintain dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment Clean food preparation and serving areas Monitor dish machine temperatures and sanitation processes Follow infection prevention, food safety, and sanitation guidelines Maintain compliance with Dietary Services policies and regulatory requirements Team Support Assist with inventory and supply management Support orientation and training of new staff members Cross-train to support Environmental Services (EVS) functions as needed Adapt to changing priorities and assist wherever needed within the department Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental operations Education High school diploma or equivalent required Experience Kitchen, food service, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred but not required Healthcare food service experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate Certifications Colorado Food Handler Card required ServSafe Food Handler Certification required within six (6) months of hire Current AHA BLS (Heartsaver) certification required Skills Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and food safety practices Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and dietary requirements Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications Ability to work independently and as part of a team What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate will: Enjoy serving others and making a positive impact Take pride in cleanliness, organization, and food quality Demonstrate reliability and strong attendance Thrive in a team-oriented environment Adapt well to changing priorities and busy meal service periods Support PSMC's WISER values:

$18.00 - $22.38 hourly, based on years of relevant experience. "Relevant experience" means relevant to the employee's responsibilities set forth in the job description as determined by the HR Manager, CAO, applicable department manager/director and applicable senior leader.
Shift Differential Pay:
Swing Shift Differential:
Employees who work majority of hours between 2:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. receive a Swing Shift Differential of an additional $3.00 per hour.
Night Shift Differential:
Employees who work majority of hours between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. receive a Night Shift Differential of an additional $5.00 per hour.
