We're a vibrant, bustling café dedicated to providing exceptional service and high-quality products to our customers. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Manager to join our dynamic 8-person team.

Responsibilities:
Training & Development:
Train, coach, and develop employees and team leaders.
Operational Support:
Jump in as a barista or sandwich prep station as needed.
Task Delegation:
Delegate tasks to the team and provide follow-up.
Performance Management:
Hold team accountable for their performance; provide coaching and counseling as needed.
Customer Service:
Ensure the team provides fast, friendly, and accurate service.
Standards Compliance:
Ensure product quality, restaurant cleanliness, maintenance, and security standards are met.
Staffing & Scheduling:
Staff and schedule appropriately to control labor costs.
Cash Handling:
Ensure proper cash handling and deposit procedures are followed.
Inventory Management:
Ensure appropriate inventory and ordering systems are in place.
Community Engagement:
Participate in local community events and foster relationships with neighborhood businesses and organizations.
Marketing Support:
Assist with implementing marketing campaigns and promotions to boost sales and customer engagement.
Conflict Resolution:
Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional and efficient manner.
Health & Safety Compliance:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards.
Technology Utilization:
Utilize technology to optimize operations, such as POS systems and scheduling software.
Team Motivation:
Foster a positive work environment and motivate the team to achieve their best performance.
Cost Control:
Monitor and control operational costs to meet budgetary goals.
Reporting:
Prepare and present regular reports on sales, labor, and inventory to the general manager.
Supplier Coordination:
Work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality ingredients and supplies.
Menu Development:
Collaborate with the team to develop and update the menu based on customer feedback and seasonal ingredients.
Waste Management:
Implement and oversee waste reduction strategies.
Qualifications:
Communication:
Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with customers and co-workers.
Attitude & Ethics:
Possess a positive attitude and ethics that support our values and culture.
Management Skills:
Ability to manage a fast-paced, high-volume, clean, customer-focused restaurant.
Time Management:
Strong time-management skills; ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize.
Experience:
Previous experience in a supervisory or management role in the food and beverage industry preferred.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in hospitality or business management is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer skills.
Additional Information:
Work Environment:
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, stand for long periods, and lift up to 25 lbs.
