Job Description

Food Service Assistant Pay:
$15.00 per hour
Schedule:
Flexible scheduling available, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Job Summary We are seeking a friendly, energetic, and customer-focused Food Service Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide outstanding customer service, prepare quality food and beverages, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and contribute to a positive and welcoming environment for customers and team members. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, thrives in a team setting, and is committed to delivering exceptional service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service and create positive customer experiences. Prepare food and beverages according to established recipes and quality standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Operate cash registers and accurately handle cash and electronic transactions. Follow all operational procedures, safety guidelines, and sanitation standards. Anticipate customer needs and respond promptly and professionally. Assist with training and supporting new team members. Contribute to a positive team atmosphere through collaboration and communication. Recognize and communicate operational needs, customer concerns, and opportunities for improvement. Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Participate in community outreach and fundraising activities as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned to support daily operations. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent required. Experience Previous customer service, food service, cafeteria, restaurant, café, or retail experience preferred. Cash handling experience is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities. Basic computer and data entry skills. Ability to learn new procedures and systems quickly. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to maintain confidentiality when appropriate. Professional attitude and positive work ethic. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Dependable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling needs. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequent use of hands and arms to handle products and equipment. Ability to reach, bend, and climb stairs as needed. Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and accuracy. Work Environment Work is performed in a customer-facing food service environment. Employees are expected to maintain a professional, respectful, and inclusive workplace free from discrimination, harassment, and intimidation. Noise levels are typically low to moderate. Why Join Us?
