Food & Beverage Retail Sales Assistant Manager We are seeking an energetic, customer-focused Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of a specialty food and wine retail store. This role is ideal for someone passionate about gourmet foods, wine, entertaining, and creating exceptional customer experiences. The Assistant Manager will help lead store operations, drive sales, curate food and wine ordering and ensure a welcoming and well-organized shopping environment. Responsibilities Assist with day-to-day retail store operations, including opening and closing procedures Deliver outstanding customer service and build strong relationships with guests Assist with weekly ordering food and wines, receiving, stocking, and maintaining product quality standards Assist in leading in-store events; wine tastings, classes Provide knowledgeable recommendations on specialty foods, wines, gift items, and entertaining products Support merchandising, inventory management, product displays, and seasonal promotions Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards throughout the store Handle customer concerns professionally and efficiently Qualifications Previous retail experience a must. Experience with specialty foods, gourmet retail, wine sales, or hospitality strongly preferred Knowledge of wines, food pairing, and entertaining products is a plus Food service, café, or wine bar experience preferred Strong communication, take charge attitude, and organizational skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment Positive attitude with a hands-on, team-oriented approach Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and stand for extended periods Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings for events Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about food, wine, hospitality, and community engagement.
