Hotel Breakfast Attendant

Summary Breakfast Attendants are responsible for ensuring the breakfast experience is as enjoyable as possible. Duties include assembling and disassembling breakfast buffets and ensuring that the buffet always remains well-stocked for a great breakfast. In full-service establishments, Lead Breakfast Attendants receive requests from guests, communicate these requests to the kitchen staff, and clear tables. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Always approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner by maintaining a positive demeanor.
• Promote a positive and caring work environment by addressing and resolving any conflict in a calm and poised manner.
• Maintain regular attendance as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the individual property.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
• Responsible for creating an impressive breakfast experience for all guests.
• Greet guests upon arrival and make them feel welcomed, always following the 5/10 rule.
• Ensure guests are satisfied by walking through dining area and offering any assistance, escorting them to tables when necessary.
• Provide quality service to all guests by responding to their requests promptly, efficiently, and courteously.
• Assign work tasks and coordinate activities of breakfast personnel to ensure prompt and courteous service to patrons.
• Guide, direct, and motivate staff — Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
• Direct staff and ensure that tables are cleaned, salt and pepper shakers wiped down, etc.
• Set up tables for breakfast customers. Maintain tear down station in a neat and organized manner.
• Ensure dish breakdown area is maintained, clean, and organized with clean china, silver, glassware and utensils and an ample amount of food supply throughout buffet and breakfast area. Restock glasses, cups, plates, napkins, trays, etc.
• Prepare, set up, stock, take down, clean, and provide quality breakfast products, adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
• Clearing cutlery and crockery from customers' tables, wiping dining tables, cleaning and replenishing tabletop condiments throughout the shift.
• Provide information and assistance to hotel guests regarding local and property amenities.
• Assist guest efficiently and courteously in all hospitality related functions, while ensuring that all breakfast service is being maintained and served according to brand standards.
• Inventory breakfast items regularly; orders or purchases items as necessary or provides an order for the manager.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness of public areas.
• Show initiative in job performance by anticipating the needs of guests and team members.
• Follow all company's policies, procedures, and meet standards.
• Must maintain a clean and safe work environment and report any safety issues to management immediately.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications 1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. . 2. Minimum 1 year of customer service experience required, hospitality industry preferred. 3. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, or scheduled form. 4. Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English in order to communicate with guests and team members. 5. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. 6. Ability to work with computers and good knowledge of operating software preferred. 7. Friendliness, problem solving, and organizational skills needed. 8. Have a strong attention to details. 9. Must be able to communicate effectively and often handle disgruntled guests and difficult situations. 10. Must be able to multi-task. 11. Must be a team player. 12. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high degree of autonomy.
