Part-time, Full-time Job Title:
Front of House-3 (FOH-3 Mid-Level)
Status:
Non-Exempt/Hourly Primary Job Function:
Under the direction of the GM, the FOH-3 position is considered Mid-level. Supervision is relaxed on assignments of a routine and straightforward nature but is closer in terms of a more difficult and complex nature. The goal for this incumbent is to learn and become competent in all duty stations. Provide assistance and guidance to Trainees, Beginners, and Intermediate Level employees. Monitor stations and assist with store opening/closing and daily operations. Maintain all cleanliness, safety, and equipment operational issues. Track and place product reorders per COG Guidelines within a 90-day probational period.
General Duties:
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures Genki Sushi USA, Inc. set forth.
  • Required to adhere to the store's daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning lists.
  • Ensures customers are consistently satisfied with their dining experience by monitoring guest comment cards and personally inquiring with customers daily.
  • Enforces the company's cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Reminds FOH staff to have cleaning tasks done consistently.
  • Assists management to ensure the restaurant follows state OSHA and food safety regulations.
  • Attends all pre/post-shift briefings and scheduled meetings.
  • Learn and become competent in all duty stations.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to Trainees, Beginners, and Intermediate Level employees.
  • Monitor stations and assist with store opening/closing and daily operations.
  • Maintain all cleanliness, safety, and equipment operational issues.

COG Guidelines Essential Duties:
  • Performs all essential job functions as required by a FOH staff member: o Server o Host o Expo o Food Runner o Busser
  • Able to efficiently run every station in front of the house.
  • Designs and implements cross-training of employees when time permits.
  • Has thorough knowledge of POS systems and can train subordinates thoroughly and correctly.
  • Opens and closes the restaurant according to set standard procedures. o Able to prepare and complete daily opening and closing duties, including but not limited to store set-up, cash handling procedures, DSR, time and attendance, and shutdown.
  • Assists and ensures proper storage and organization of deliveries on time.
  • Follows safe stock levels according to company standards.
  • Communicate and report to the GM on all FOH operational issues and service concerns daily and/or immediately if necessary. o Items include but are not limited to change of shift, add/edit or problems with an alarm system, staff changes, missing or delayed deliveries, and missing or delayed deposits.
  • Able to handle all guest complaints regarding specific locations.
  • Notifies GM with specific solutions for future prevention and improvement.
  • Able to prepare work schedules for FOH staff.
  • Ensuring proper staffing at each location.
  • Maintains Dining Room cleanliness and side work duties consistently.
  • Ensures proper sanitation of the entire dining room area.
  • Performs other assignments and duties as determined by the GM.
Other Duties/Functions:
  • Assists management in controlling actual labor % based on sales volume.
  • Submit the weekly schedule to GM every Wednesday before the start of the week.
  • Ensures the restaurant meets all State OSHA and Food and Sanitation requirements.
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:
  • Be organized, clean, and neat in the work environment.
  • Leads by example.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required.
  • Able to remember, recite, and promote menu items.
  • Able to upsell menu items and promotions.
  • Knowledge about alcohol service, ID checks, and a person's alcohol tolerance when and how to stop service to an intoxicated customer (applicable to stores with liquor licenses).
Working Conditions:
  • Primarily works indoors in a restaurant environment.
  • Will be exposed to abnormal temperatures as required by job duties (kitchen, refrigerators, freezers).
  • Exposure and use of chemicals will be required for restaurant cleaning and sanitation.
Work Hours:
  • Will work between 6-8 hours per shift. Minimum 30 hours per week. It may vary based on operational needs.
  • Required to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 6-12 months of work experience at Mensho restaurant and the ability to perform FOH staff duties with little or no supervision.
  • Minimum one-year work experience in a coffee shop, restaurant, or related industry with at least one year of work experience in a leadership capacity position

  • Neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage, service standards, customer relations & etiquette.
  • Able to serve alcohol ( applicable to stores with liquor licenses ) if required.
  • Tuberculosis (TB) Clearance by the Department of Health's Food Handler guidelines (Hawaii only).
  • Appropriate state's Food Handlers Card (Washington only).
  • ServSafe Certification (if required).
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in written form.
  • Computer knowledge, Windows, etc.
Physical Job Requirements:
    Constant:
    Standing and walking
      Frequent:
      Bend, stoop, reach and twist.
      • Ability to lift to 40lbs and move up to 50lbs through a crowded room continuously through the shift
      • Operate and clean restaurant equipment including but not limited to Point of Sales (POS) system, seating computer system, cash register, ordering tablet, beverage fountain, and miso soup dispenser/container.
      • Must be able to operate, load, and unload trash compactor.
