Westover Job Corps Center is seeking a dedicated Food Service Assistant who wants to do more than prepare meals—you'll play an important role in creating a positive environment where students can learn, grow, and build successful futures. As part of our team, you'll help provide nutritious meals while serving as a positive role model for young adults preparing for careers and independent living. Position Summary The Food Service Assistant supports daily food service operations by assisting with food preparation, meal service, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. This position contributes to the overall student experience by ensuring students have access to quality meals in a welcoming setting. What You'll Do Support Student Success Interact with students in a positive, respectful, and professional manner. Help create a welcoming dining experience that supports student well-being. Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and responsibility. Encourage students through positive daily interactions and mentorship opportunities. Food Preparation & Service Assist with serving meals to students and staff. Ensure serving areas are clean, organized, and stocked. Provide courteous and professional customer service during meal periods. Support efficient meal service operations. Maintain a Safe & Clean Environment Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, workstations, and dining areas. Wash dishes, cookware, and utensils. Organize food storage areas and maintain kitchen cleanliness. Assist with stocking supplies and inventory management. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous food service experience is helpful but not required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong commitment to customer service, teamwork, and safety.
