QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School Graduate preferred. 2. Dependability—punctuality, reliability, steady high-quality performance and meeting deadlines. 3. Prior experience in food service is preferred. 4. Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment. 5. Fluency in English sufficient to allow the applicant to read, write, speak, and understand oral and written instructions, recipes, and other communications that are essential for the safe and effective performance of the position. 6. Able to work well with others and possess a strong degree of adaptability. 7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO
The Cafeteria Manager.
JOB GOALS
To provide prompt, courteous service to the student body and the staff. To ensure all students the availability of a healthy, nutritious meal.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
? Working all of the following areas on a rotating schedule: ? Sink & Serve ? Salad Station ? Slicing-Storeroom ? Sandwich Room ? Cash Register ? Rounds Person ? Cleaning Duties ? Following Sanitation and Hygiene Practices
CASHIER:
1. Must be able to recognize a reimbursable meal. 2. Record all transactions in appropriate categories. 3. Responsible for cash transactions collected at register. 4. Close register out at end of day. 5. In between lunches performs duties of general worker.
ICE CREAM ROOM
1. Responsible for stocking, and recording all items used for day's sales. 2. Maintain inventory of stock. 3. Perform cashier duties. 4. Assume general worker duties when possible.
SANDWICH ROOM
1. Ascertain and order needs for menu production as provided by Café Manager. 2. Prepare daily selections. 3. Record and maintain production records and daily counts. 4. Responsible for obtaining and maintaining safe food temperatures and sanitation procedures. 5. Assumes cashier duties. 6. Helps in general worker duties.
SLICER:
1. Slices all cold cuts and any other needs for sandwich room and main line. 2. Maintains order in back storeroom. 3. Responsible for stock rotation and sanitation procedures pertinent to slicing duties. 4. Responsible for cleaning of laundry, towels and such for days needs. 5. Assists in dish room, also helps in general kitchen duties.
DISHROOM
1. Run the dishwasher for all lunches. 2. Responsible for checking and recording water temperatures each lunch. 3. Cleans machine daily and descales machine weekly. 4. Assists in general kitchen duties.
SNACKBREAK
(7:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M.): 1. Prepares snack sheets and collects money for orders. 2. Oversees the filing of orders and then distributes to shop representatives. 3. Responsible for all food sales during "Snack Break".
CAFETERIA STAFF
4. Oversees student workers. 5. Orders products needed for daily usage.
GENERAL KITCHEN WORKER DUTIES
1. Assists in any food preparations as needed. 2. Fills in any workstation when needed. 3. Helps in any clean up where needed, also responsible for keeping the work area sanitized and safe. 4. All other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
? This position is medium work, i.e., you must be able to stand up to six (6) hours each workday and to lift and/or carry 25-30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally. ? You will frequently be required to walk/move stand, stoop, squat, or bend during your workday. ? You must possess the manual dexterity and visual acuity, with or without reasonable accommodations, to operate kitchen equipment and cash registers and use kitchen tools, including knives.
EVALUATION
The Cafeteria Manager will evaluate performance of this position.
SCHEDULE & TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
?
All Positions:
School Year (182 days from September - June) ? 7:15 AM to 1:45 PM ? Eligible for Employee Benefits, including health, dental, and life insurance, state pension, college course reimbursement, etc.
