About the
Role:
The Cafe Attendant plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment for all customers by providing exceptional service and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the cafe. This position is responsible for efficiently taking orders, preparing and serving beverages and light food items, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout their visit. The Cafe Attendant will collaborate closely with team members to manage inventory, restock supplies, and uphold health and safety standards. By attentively addressing customer needs and resolving any issues promptly, the attendant helps foster a positive reputation for the establishment. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the smooth daily operations and overall success of the cafe.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a customer service or food service role preferred but not required. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Basic math skills for handling transactions. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and cleaning.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a cafe or coffee shop environment. Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and equipment. Food handler certification or willingness to obtain one. Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
Greet customers warmly and take accurate orders for food and beverages. Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other drinks according to established recipes and customer preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe, including tables, counters, and equipment. Handle cash and electronic payments accurately and efficiently. Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure continuous service. Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a safe environment. Assist in opening and closing duties, including cleaning and setting up the cafe. Respond promptly and courteously to customer inquiries and resolve any service issues.

The required skills such as customer service and basic math are essential for accurately taking orders, processing payments, and ensuring a positive customer experience. Physical stamina and attention to cleanliness help maintain the cafe's welcoming atmosphere and comply with health standards. Preferred skills like knowledge of coffee preparation enhance the quality and consistency of beverages served, contributing to customer satisfaction. Strong communication skills enable the attendant to interact effectively with customers and team members, facilitating smooth daily operations.
