This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in food service and within the school district. This is a phsyically demaning job that inlcudes standing, lifting, and carrying as essential job duties. This is a part time postion for when school is in session with the opprtunity for optional summer work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

All duties pertaining to the preparation and serving of breakfast and cleaning of kitchen equipment and facility. This is a physically demanding position requiring frequent lifting, carrying, and walking with significant standing required on shift.

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO

Prepares and serves breakfast items with precision and care, ensuring quality and presentation standards are metand cleans up serving line/kitchen areas Participates in preparing breakfast and participates in service to students Maintain a positive, cooperative and productive working relationship with staff, students and teachers through the use of patience, courtesy and tactful communication Serves students courteously and professionally using correct portion sizes Follows health and food safety standards and maintains proper temperature control of food Assist with receiving orders and inventory stocking Clean and sanitize work areas and dish duties Monitors/tracks inventory and participates in restocking/transporting food items and supplies Participate in required professional development and other trainings offered Maintain required food safety and other certifications as directed Performs other work related duties as instructed

QUALIFICATIONS

Must enjoy interacting with students in a food service environment Understanding of National School Breakfast Program requirements preferred School Nutrition, Culinary and/or Food Service experience preferred Working knowledge of food preparation methods, food safety and procurement Ability to multi-task and work under pressure Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs and push/pull/transport food carts, food items including boxes, and food bags This position is vital to the operation of the Food Service Department and therefor punctuality and regular attendance is of high importance Must agree to CORI check and fingerprinting (at employee's expense) prior to start date Must agree to complete Serve Safe exam within 9 months of hire date Must agree to complete required continuing education units over the course of school year, including local travel to conferences, meetings and trainings as necessary Responsibilities Prepare and serve breakfast items with precision and care, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met Participate in breakfast service to students and clean up Serves students courteously and professionally using correct portion sizes Follows health and food safety standards and maintains proper temperature control of food Assist with receiving orders and inventory stocking Clean and sanitize work areas Monitors/tracks inventory and participates in restocking/transporting food items and supplies Participate in required professional development and other trainings offered Maintain required food safety and other certifications as directed Performs other work related duties as instructed Experience Previous food industry experience preferred, especially in fine dining or banquet settings Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor Experience in serving, food preparation, or catering environments highly desirable Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced settings while maintaining attention to detail Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional breakfast experiences at Webster Middle School!
