Food Service Worker

Contract Food Service Worker Riverview Psychiatric Center Located in Augusta, Maine This is a non-benefit long term contract position for 40 hours per week $22.00 hourly Shifts are 10:30a to 7p (flex) during the week. Food Service Workers at Riverview Psychiatric Center, become part of a team supporting the treatment and rehabilitation of patients challenged with mental illness by providing healthy meals, guidance, and mentorship through the day-to-day operations of our main kitchen, dining hall, and ward service. Food Service workers prepare foods and simple special diets in a commercial sized kitchen, serve meals in institutional dining room, deliver meal carts serving to units, assist patients in learning general food service procedures, light housekeeping and kitchen clean up tasks, role model appropriate behavior and interpersonal communication and collaborate with patients and staff to ensure positive person-centered care. Qualifications:

At least 18 years old. Applicants must have at least 1 year food service experience. Must be willing to submit to a background check and retrieve your vaccination records. Training:

We offer 80 hours of orientation including patient interactions, therapeutic boundaries, and on-the-job training with ServSafe practices. Riverview Psychiatric Center, in collaboration with the community, is a center for best practice, treatment, education and research, for individuals with serious, persistent mental illness, and co-occurring substance use disorders. We have a burgeoning collaboration with national and international experts in psychiatry, support a growing and wide variety of teaching and training programs, and have a collegial, supportive medical staff and hospital administration.
