Job Description

Seal Rock Healthcare, part of the Atlantic Heights Community, is a fully-licensed Medicaid/Medicare-certified facility offering 105 beds. Under the ownership of First Atlantic Healthcare, the Atlantic Heights Community follows in First Atlantic's long standing reputation for excellence in long term care, assisted living and senior living. First Atlantic Healthcare is seeking an Associate Food Service Director to join the team providing quality care in the local Maine communities.
Reports To:
Food Service Director Purpose of Position The Associate Food Service Director will provide assistance in overseeing the Dining Department on campus to include administrative duties such as inventory of food supplies and ordering. The main focus of this position will be to manage the food service operations in front and back of house for The Inn. The Associate Food Service Director shall manage the dietary operations for the campus in the absence of the Food Service Director. Essential Job Functions Responsibilities Oversees the management of all areas of The Inn kitchen to include but is not limited to management of employees, day to day operations of meal service, and cooking. Ensures that all meals are prepared according to the approved menus. Assists in the purchasing/ordering and maintain inventory according to the menu cycles. Monitors food storage and proper rotation of food. Assists in the management of employees in the dining department to include hiring, training and performance management. Management and oversight of event catering and meals for Cottage residents. Ensures that new staff are properly orientated and trained. Evaluates and maintains all equipment in the dietary department to include calling for repairs when needed. Physical Demands Contacts Must be able to stand, sit and squat throughout the work day Must be able to lift 35 pounds Must be able to fulfill any position in the kitchen if shifts are open Education/Requirement The Associate Food Service Director must be either Serv-Safe Certified or enrolled in the course for certification. Minimum 2 years' experience managing a kitchen and at least 5 years' experience of hands on culinary experience to fulfill the essential requirements of skill and function below. Skills/Qualifications To have experience in ordering, storing and preparing and serving meals according to the menu cycle. Ability to see that meals are served according to stated meal service times. Must be able to perform all essential tasks within the kitchen. Experience in management, food sanitation, Federal State regulations and have computer knowledge. Ability to assist in any food related functions in addition to the normal meal service. Must be available to work a rotating weekend schedule.
