- Part-time, Full-time We are looking for a dependable Banquet Captain to join our amazing Stage House Inn team and manage them during our year-round Weddings and Events schedule.
The Banquet Captains position is to execute the following duties on a wedding or event day. The Banquet Captain is responsible for managing/delegating various responsibilities to staff, like the set up and break down for an event/wedding, arranging tables, providing food service, and tending to the special needs of guests. The Banquet Captain works hand in hand with the Wedding Coordinators, Head Chef and banquet staff to ensure that the weddings and events run smoothly. The ideal person for this position would have experience as a lead server or Banquet Captain. This position requires the ability to create monthly schedules and manage staff. The Banquet Captian is expected to work weekends and spend a few days a week in the office ordering linens and doing basic pre-event setup. We do have lead servers who can support/take on weddings if you have commitments or other plans. However, you will be the primary wedding Banquet Captain. Banquet Captain Duties and Responsibilities:
Managing the banquet team in a fast-paced work environment Create a monthly schedule for staff Order linens for upcoming events Lead event preparation, set up, and break down Serve appetizers and plated dinners to guests Deliver food from the kitchen to the ballroom promptly Communicate with the Wedding Coordinator to keep the event running on time Stock tablecloths, glassware, dishes, silverware, and other items to prepare for the next event Supporting other staff to ensure guest satisfaction Ability to problem-solve Weekends are a must with some hours during the week Not expected to work every day of every weekend
Banquet Captain Requirements and Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred Basic Computer Skills At least 21 years old Previous restaurant or event service experience is a must Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions while leading Excellent customer service skills & organizational skills
