Bistro Attendant Courtyard by Marriott - Lansing Lansing, MI Job Details Part-time | Full-time $16 - $17 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid training 401(k) Paid time off Employee discount Qualifications Serving Food handling High school diploma or GED Food & beverage industry Food preparation Full Job Description The Bistro Attendant is responsible for preparing and serving food and beverages in the hotel's Bistro, ensuring guest satisfaction with a warm and welcoming attitude. This role requires basic food preparation, order taking, and maintaining a clean and organized café-style service area.
Key Responsibilities Customer Service:
Greet and interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner. Provide menu recommendations and answer questions about offerings. Handle guest concerns and requests with urgency and professionalism.
Food & Beverage Operations:
Prepare and serve food and beverages according to brand standards. Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems for order processing and payment collection. Follow recipes and portion guidelines accurately.
Cleanliness & Organization:
Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, including counters, equipment, and dining area. Stock and replenish food, beverage, and paper supplies as needed. Dispose of waste properly and follow hotel and health department guidelines.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the kitchen and other hotel departments for smooth operations. Communicate inventory needs or issues to supervisors.
Compliance & Safety:
Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures. Adhere to Marriott and local health regulations. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or customer service a plus. Must be able to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Basic math skills for handling transactions. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs. Work Environment Fast-paced, guest-facing setting. Standing and movement required throughout the shift. Shifts may begin early (e.g., 6:00 AM) or extend into the evening depending on the hotel's service model.
Pay:
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour
