Breakfast Bar Attendant

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Breakfast Attendant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests during the breakfast hours in a hotel setting. You will ensure that the breakfast area is clean, organized, and fully stocked while assisting guests with their meal choices and providing a welcoming atmosphere. Duties Prepare and set up the breakfast area prior to service, ensuring all food items are displayed attractively and in accordance with health and safety standards. Assist guests with their meal selections, providing recommendations and answering any questions regarding menu items. Maintain cleanliness of the breakfast area by bussing tables, cleaning surfaces, and replenishing supplies as needed throughout service. Operate cash register for any applicable transactions, ensuring accurate handling of payments. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and presentation. Monitor food quality and freshness, discarding any items that do not meet standards. Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally. Utilize phone etiquette when taking reservations or responding to guest requests via phone if necessary. Qualifications Previous experience in a catering or culinary role is preferred but not required. Familiarity with hotel operations is a plus. Strong communication skills with an emphasis on phone etiquette. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Basic knife skills for food preparation tasks are beneficial. Experience with OpenTable or similar reservation systems is advantageous. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
