The Bistro Attendant is responsible for providing excellent guest service while preparing, serving, and selling food and beverages in the hotel restaurant. This position ensures a clean, welcoming, and efficient dining environment while following Marriott brand standards, food safety requirements, and hotel operational procedures. The Bistro Attendant supports breakfast, dinner, and bar operations as applicable and helps create a positive guest experience through friendly and professional service. Essential Job Functions Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner. Take food and beverage orders accurately using the POS system. Prepare and serve food and beverages according to brand standards. Respond promptly to guest requests, concerns, and special needs. Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and daily specials. Provide excellent hospitality and maintain a positive attitude during all interactions. Food & Beverage Operations Prepare coffee, beverages, and light food items. Prepare Starbucks beverages. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain proper food temperatures and storage procedures. Restock food, beverages, condiments, and supplies throughout shift. Assist with inventory counts and receiving deliveries as needed. Serve beer, wine, and cocktails. Follow all alcohol service laws and hotel policies when applicable. Cleaning & Sanitation Maintain cleanliness of bistro, kitchen, dining area, and storage areas. Wash dishes and sanitize workstations according to health department standards. Complete opening, shift, and closing cleaning duties. Dispose of trash and maintain organized work areas. Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines. Cash Handling & POS Operate point-of-sale (POS) system accurately. Process cash, credit card, and mobile payments. Balance cash drawer and complete shift reports as required. Maintain accuracy in all transactions. Team Support Work collaboratively with front desk and housekeeping teams. Assist other departments during busy periods when needed. Attend training meetings and complete required brand certifications. Support hotel goals related to guest satisfaction and cleanliness scores. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous restaurant, café, hotel, or customer service experience preferred. Food Handler and/or TABC certification may be required depending on state laws. Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays. Strong communication and customer service skills. Basic math and cash-handling skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Physical Requirements Stand and walk for extended periods of time. Lift up to 30 pounds regularly. Deliver mobile orders. Bend, reach, push, pull, and carry supplies as needed. Ability to work in hot or cold kitchen environments. Support banquet or meeting break setups. Work Environment Fast-paced hospitality environment. Exposure to kitchen equipment and cleaning chemicals. Morning and evening shifts may be required. Performance Expectations Maintain Marriott guest service standards. Meet cleanliness and food safety expectations. Arrive on time and maintain dependable attendance. Support positive guest satisfaction scores and operational goals. FLSA Status Non-Exempt /
Hourly Pay:
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour
