Job Description

The Avalon Events Center is seeking an Assistant Banquet Manager to work on our weddings, social events and corporate events. You will work on a variety of different functions ensuring our Avalon standards and reputation are maintained. Experience managing events/staff is required. The Assistant Banquet Manager position is responsible for collaborating with the Banquet Manager to lead, manage and operate the front house and back house operations.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Manage:
    supervisor, server, bartender, and dishwasher.
  • Evaluating performance, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Responsible for training, planning, assigning, and leading employees.
  • Visual inspections of rooms and equipment prior to banquet event for cleanliness, proper inventory and set-up.
  • Monitor overall banquet areas for maintenance issues.
  • Adhere to health, safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Responsible for bar/banquet inventory.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
  • Ensures events are set up, serviced, and tore down correctly.
  • Monitor business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
  • Open to challenges in both large and small events.
  • Maintains good rapport with management team and employees
