Brew Catering & Events Position Overview:
Brew Catering & Events is seeking dependable, organized, and hospitality-driven Banquet Captains to lead event service teams throughout the Fargo-Moorhead area. The Banquet Captain serves as the onsite leader during events and is responsible for ensuring smooth execution, strong communication, excellent guest experiences, and professional service standards. This role acts as the bridge between the kitchen, event staff, venue partners, and clients during service. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, highly organized, self-motivated, and confident leading teams in fast-paced event environments. Primary Responsibilities Event Leadership Lead front-of-house event staff during catering and banquet events Direct servers, bartenders, and support staff throughout service Ensure event timelines and service flow stay on track Serve as the primary onsite point of contact during events Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and venue staff Event Setup & Execution Oversee event setup including buffets, tables, beverage stations, and service areas Ensure all event details are executed accurately Conduct pre-service team meetings and assignments Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards throughout the event Monitor buffet presentation and replenish food as needed Team Coordination Assign staff responsibilities and manage workflow during events Assist with training and coaching banquet staff Ensure staff maintain professionalism, appearance, and hospitality standards Support team members during high-volume or stressful periods Problem Solving Troubleshoot issues quickly and professionally during events Communicate operational needs with kitchen and logistics teams Adapt calmly to timeline changes or unexpected situations Ensure guests and clients receive excellent hospitality throughout the event Closing Responsibilities Oversee event breakdown and cleanup Ensure equipment and supplies are packed and accounted for properly Complete post-event responsibilities and communication with management Help maintain organization of event inventory and supplies Qualifications Previous hospitality, catering, restaurant, or event experience preferred Leadership or supervisory experience preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to multitask in fast-paced environments Professional appearance and positive attitude Ability to lift and carry event equipment as needed Reliable transportation required Friday and Saturday availability is required Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays Schedule Part-time and flexible scheduling available Shifts primarily evenings and weekends Friday and Saturday availability required Shift lengths vary based on event schedule Typical shifts range from 4-12 hours Compensation $24 per hour
