Scotch Plains, NJ Compensation:
$25-$30 per hour Position Summary Shackamaxon Country Club is seeking an experienced and service-driven Banquet Captain to oversee the execution of private events, member functions, tournaments, and special occasions. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring banquet operations run smoothly while delivering exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for members and guests. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment. This individual will lead banquet staff, coordinate event execution, and serve as a key liaison between the Food & Beverage team, event hosts, and club leadership. Essential Responsibilities Lead banquet service teams during weddings, social events, corporate functions, tournaments, and member events. Oversee event setup and ensure banquet rooms are prepared according to event specifications and club standards. Conduct pre-event meetings with banquet staff to review timelines, service expectations, and event details. Coordinate food and beverage service to ensure timely and efficient execution. Serve as the primary point of contact for event hosts during functions and address requests professionally and promptly. Monitor service quality and provide direction and support to banquet team members throughout events. Assist with training and mentoring banquet staff on service standards and procedures. Ensure banquet areas remain clean, organized, and well-presented throughout events. Assist with event breakdown, room resets, and post-event evaluations. Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards. Qualifications Previous banquet leadership, banquet captain, or hospitality supervisory experience required. Strong knowledge of banquet operations, food and beverage service, and event execution. Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills. Ability to remain organized and composed in a fast-paced environment. Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Ability to stand, walk, lift, and move banquet equipment as needed.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
