Full Job Description General Description:
The Banquet Porter (set up) will gain constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time. Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources. Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work. Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Essential Functions:
Set-up and breakdown of rooms for both meetings and food functions. Catering and other equipment set up/ break down/ maintenance as needed. Ensure all banquet rooms and storage areas are always kept in a proper condition according to company standards. Able to read a Banquet event order floor plan/ diagram. Set up all meeting rooms to the specifications of the guest. This includes considerable physical activity in transporting sometimes awkward and heavy materials weighing up to 75 lbs. such as staging, tables, chairs, dance floors, etc., from the storage area to the meeting rooms. Break down and service all meeting rooms/areas where meetings have concluded and return items to the storage area so the room will be available to reset for the next function.
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of six (6) months of experience in a related field. A minimum of six (6) months of guest contact experience.
Experience and Education Substitutions:
An equivalent combination of formal education and appropriate related experience may be considered.
