Assistant Director of Banquet Sales & Special Events-J Resort | Reno, Nevada Help Shape the Future of Downtown Reno J Resort is transforming downtown Reno into Northern Nevada's premier destination for entertainment, hospitality, and unforgettable guest experiences. We're looking for an energetic, relationship-driven professional to join our Sales team as Assistant Director of Banquet Sales & Special Events . If you thrive on building partnerships, creating exciting events, and generating new business opportunities, this is your chance to make a meaningful impact while helping drive visitation, hotel room nights, and community engagement. What You'll Do As Assistant Director of Banquet Sales & Special Events, you'll play a key role in expanding J Resort's presence throughout Northern Nevada by supporting event sales, developing community partnerships, and creating experiences that attract both local guests and out-of-market visitors.
You'll:
Assist in planning and executing weddings, festivals, concerts, tournaments, community events, and special programs Identify and develop new business opportunities that generate hotel room nights and increase resort visitation Build relationships with local businesses, community organizations, event planners, promoters, and associations Represent J Resort at networking events, trade shows, and community functions Coordinate event logistics including catering, room setups, audiovisual needs, staffing, security, and vendor management Support group sales initiatives and conduct property tours for prospective clients Collaborate with Marketing, Hotel Operations, Food & Beverage, Banquets, Security, and other departments to deliver exceptional guest experiences Maintain prospect pipelines, event activity reports, and room night production tracking Help position J Resort as Northern Nevada's preferred destination for entertainment, events, and overnight stays
What We're Looking For:
We're seeking someone who is: Passionate about hospitality, entertainment, sales, and community engagement An exceptional relationship builder with strong networking skills Self-motivated, energetic, and results-oriented Comfortable speaking with business leaders, community partners, and prospective clients Organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously Creative in identifying new revenue opportunities and guest experiences Flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as events require
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in hospitality sales, hotel sales, event management, destination marketing, business development, or community relations Strong understanding of how events and group business drive hotel occupancy and revenue Existing relationships within the Northern Nevada business and community network are highly desirable Experience with Microsoft Office and CRM or sales tracking systems Why Join J Resort?
