Job Description
Our up and coming store located in Greenvale, NY is actively seeking a FT Assistant Catering Manager for its anticipated busy Department! If you have Catering Management experience, we have a great opportunity for you! This position will be a Bench position for our new stores coming to Long Island (Greenvale and Levittown). Our new hire will be detailed, organized, with the ability to work under pressure. This individual must be well balanced at multitasking and delegating, in addition to being motivated to increase their knowledge in the specialty. During the high season, extended hours, weekends, nights, and holidays are required. Responsibilities Take orders from customers either in person or over the phones, ensuring that the correct amount of food is ordered. Always with a smile!
Event planning and menu designSchedule outside vendors for items such as equipment rentals, wait staff and other resources as neededProcess online orders, collect and process payments receivedCoordinate pick-up and delivery scheduleAssist catering manager with clerical needsAssist in setting up and managing in store demosAs needed, will assist with deliveries of catered ordered and eventsRespond in a timely fashion to all customer complaintsCultivate and develop relationships with our customersProcess weekly gratuitiesOther duties and functions as assigned Functions within the position Plan event from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectivesCome up with suggestions to enhance the event's successSource and negotiate with vendors and suppliersLead promotional activities for the eventSupervise all staff Ensure event is completed smoothly, working to resolve any problems that has arisen Requirements HS Diploma or equivalentPast experience as Event Manager, Catering Manager or Assistant Catering Manager in food and beverageSkilled in project managementKnowledge of KPIs and marketing techniques for event managementMust be computer literate and proficient in MS OfficeOutstanding communication and negotiation skillsExcellent organizational skills with the ability for quick problem solvingMust be outgoing and assertive and a team player with management Benefits We offer an exciting benefits package to all FT-PT employees! There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
May require lifting objects up to 50 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 50 pounds with assistance.
Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard. There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers.
There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents.
