Banquet Captain/Floor Manager

Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club is seeking both Part Time and Full Time Banquet Captains and Floor Managers to help organize, run, supervise and manage private events. Candidates should be experienced, professional, pleasant, calm, organized and able to display strong leadership skills under stressful conditions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working with the Banquet Director, the Culinary Team, the MBYC Staff, and any outside Planners or Organizers to ensure a smooth, elegant, service-oriented, positive experience for all guests and vendors.
• Managing and directing all floor-staff before, during, and after events. Ensuring that both setup and breakdown are done correctly, unobtrusively, and efficiently.
• Supervising and directing all floor-staff in a consistently professional and positive manner, ensuring that they are adhering to MBYC's standards of service and dress code.
• Consistently providing staff with the proper customer service and serving etiquette.
• Being able to manage and address requests, questions, complaints and any issues with guests, staff or vendors in a professional, non-defensive manner.
• Ensuring the venue remains neat, clean and organized

REQUIREMENTS

• Available on weekends until late at night and some weeknights.
• The ability to spend long periods of time standing and helping to move or lift items such as furniture.
• A minimum of 2 years experience in a Banquet Facility directing staff
• High School diploma or GED
• Excellent time management, leadership, and communication skills (both verbal and written)
• The ability to provide strong Customer Service and Hospitality skills at all times
