Salary Range:
$22.04/HR Position Summary Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: hosting, which includes taking the patient's meal/food order for breakfast, lunch and dinner, reviewing diet orders, food allergies, and utilizing technology application in placing food orders. Cashiering, which includes utilizing POS (Point of Sales) system, cash transactions, verifying the cash drawer, accurately giving change, counting cash receipts, and filing out cash reports. In addition, responsibilities will also include food preparation, stocking, assembling meals, delivery and retrieval of trays, sanitation/cleaning duties, pot and dish cleaning, cafeteria service, and catering service. Functions will vary according to assignments. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Include the

Ads to WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors Punches in/out as required based on assigned work schedule. s to work area ready to work in uniform, appropriate shoes and visible identification badge according to policy. Demonstrates/Articulates an understanding of responsibilities of the assigned positions. Verbalizes and applies knowledge of current department policies and procedures. Attends staff meeting, in-service or equivalent to update knowledge related to current department/hospital issues as required or requested. Responsible forpleting s annual department/hospitalpetency and educational requirements. Assembles trays according to patient menu on tray ticket and retrieves trays from patients' rooms. Follows Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines when handling food and when cleaning work stations and breaking down patient tray line. Follow facility and department infection control policies and procedures. Communicates with nursing departments, clinical dieticians, and other personnel to provide excellent patient services. Takes patients menu selection prior to meals and offers alternatives to menu as allowed on prescribed diet in accordance with food allergies and sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences. Introduces the Food & Nutrition Meals Program following the scripted methods to all patients. Carefully enters all sales into the cash register to ensure that all purchases are accurately recorded and ensuring that cash drawer is inpliance with overage/shortage standards. Makes change, accepts declining balance cards, and other acceptable forms of payment, and issues receipts to customers. Follows standard procedures for issuing cash refunds and sales transactions in a timely fashion. Interacts with patients/customers and resolvesplaints in a friendly and service-oriented manner. Must have the ability to observe customer purchases in the café line and to differentiate between standard portions. Performs all other related duties as assigned. Education & Experience Requirements High School Diploma or GED required Competency in selectputer/software applications Cashier or Hostess experience preferred Core Competencies Excellent Customer Service Skills Team Player Excellent Communication Skills (written/verbal) Ability to Multi-task Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment Standing/walking up to 7.5 hours, lifting up to 50 pounds, grasping, pulling, pushing, carrying, repetitive movement, stooping, bending, reaching, climbing, and kneeling Ability to perform routine repetitive duties. Ability to acknowledge and greet patients, visitors and all customers. Ability to read a menu and menu ticket, read and verbalize a patient's name, ability to work under pressure, and the ability to maintain an even temperament in stressful situations. Ability to count change and use POS system. Ability to perform arithmetic operations involving all United States monetary units (add, subtract, multiply, and divide) in all units of measure, using whole numbers,mon fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money, weigh measurement, and volume. Must be able to differentiate between monetary units. Communicates frequently with patients who may have questions and requires exchange of accurate information. May be exposed to wet and humid conditions and to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee maybe exposed to are listed in the hospital's SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and accessed through the hospital's Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). Hourly Rate:
