Job Description

Position Summary The Banquet Captain is responsible for leading all banquet functions and member events to ensure exceptional service, flawless execution, and an outstanding member experience. This hands-on leadership position serves as the primary on-floor supervisor for private events, club functions, golf outings, holiday celebrations, weddings, and member social events. The Banquet Captain works closely with the culinary team, banquet staff, and management to execute events according to banquet event orders (BEOs), uphold the club's service standards, and create memorable experiences for members and guests. Responsibilities Lead the execution of all banquet functions, member events, and private club events. Supervise and direct banquet servers, bartenders, and support staff during events. Ensure event spaces are set up accurately according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and club standards. Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate event details, service expectations, and assignments. Coordinate food and beverage service with the culinary team to ensure seamless event execution. Provide exceptional service to members and guests while maintaining the club's hospitality standards. Serve as the primary on-floor leader and point of contact throughout each event. Anticipate and resolve member and guest concerns promptly and professionally. Train, coach, and mentor banquet staff on service standards and operational procedures. Monitor event timelines to ensure efficient and timely service. Ensure banquet areas, equipment, and service stations remain clean, organized, and event-ready. Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service policies. Assist with inventory, event supplies, and banquet equipment organization. Complete post-event breakdowns, room resets, and operational follow-up as needed. Promote teamwork, professionalism, and a positive work environment while delivering exceptional member experiences. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of banquet, restaurant, or hospitality leadership experience. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. Private club, hotel, or upscale banquet experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of banquet service styles including plated, buffet, family-style, cocktail receptions, and stations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment. Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
RAMP/TIPS
Alcohol Certification (or ability to obtain).

From $22.00 per hour
