Job Description

General Responsibility To serve trays of food on the line or wait and clean tables as assigned on a rotating basis. Responsible to the Camp Directors and the Assistant Camp Director, directly supervised by the Dining Room Supervisor and Blaze Team Coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Desire to work in a camp Dining Hall. 2. Ability to learn to do tasks as assigned. 3. Willingness to be involved. 4. Have the backing and support of the Corps Officer. 5. Attends Salvation Army church and actively involved in Corps Cadets. 6. Ability to accept guidance and supervision. 7. Ability to relate to one's peer group. 8. High school student or at least 16 years of age. 9. Must attend Salvation Army church youth programs and have support of the local Corps Officer. 10. Maintain neat, clean appearance.
Blaze Team Member Responsibilities:
Must be 16-17 years old 1. Be respectful of camp rules, staff, and fellow teammates. 2. Honor my commitments and be dependable in my service. 3. Hold myself and others accountable in love. 4. Actively participate in discipleship times, mentoring sessions, and camp responsibilities.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Prepare the serving area. 2. Make sure the proper utensils are out for serving. 3. Put out silverware. 4. Serve correct portions of food as directed by the Head Cook or Dining Room Supervisor. 5. Serve food in a friendly, positive manner. 6. Clean food line including warmer, coolers and sink area. 7. Sweep and mop food line area. 8. Clean, scrub, and polish food service area and equipment. 9. Clean beverage service areas. 10. Prepare tables for each meal including beverages, condiments, napkins, cups, etc 11. Assist small campers especially when carrying their trays. 12. Stand near assigned tables to readily assist counselors or campers. 13. Clear tables of soiled trays, garbage, etc. 14. Clean chairs and wash tables with sanitizer after each meal. 15. Sweep your entire area and spot mop after each meal. 16. Bring soiled trays, glasses and silverware to dish room. 17. Clean and sanitize carts. 18. Empty and clean garbage cans after each meal. 19. Neatly put away equipment in its proper location. 20. Assist in the weekly cleaning of the Dining Hall in cooperation with other staff. 21. Wash windows, clean closets, sweep porches, and mop the Dining Hall as assigned. 22. Have your assigned area of responsibility checked by the Dining Room Supervisor before being dismissed. 23. Report to work promptly, dressed in the assigned staff shirt for the day.
This includes:
a. Aprons should be while on duty. b. All hair must be tied back; hair nets or hats (provided by camp) must be worn, c. Must wear closed toe shoes while on duty. d. Food service gloves must be worn when handling / serving food. 24. Actively participate in any Blaze Team activities led by the Blaze Team Coordinator. 25. Participating and assisting as needed in all camp activities as assigned by the Program Director and Dining Hall Supervisor.
Staff Responsibilities:
1. Prepare for, and actively participate in, staff training. 2. Manage personal time off in accordance with camp policy within your scheduled time off each day. 3. Clean living area daily. 4. Desire to be a team player. 5. Check your mail and read posted flyers on a daily basis for camp information updates 6. Committed to the growth of campers spiritually, physically, educationally, emotionally, and socially. 7. Encourage respect for individuals and their differences. 8. All staff are expected to arrive on Sunday evening no earlier than 5:30pm to be attendance for the staff meeting at 6:30pm. 9. All staff are expected to be on duty and attentive to your role from Sunday evening to Friday afternoon. 10. Attend weekly staff Bible studies. This takes place on Thursday night. 11. Attend and participate in Staff Vespers/Small Groups on Sunday evening. 12. Attend the staff meeting on Friday afternoon prior to check-out. All staff must be checked out by the Assistant Camp Director or Camp Directors before leaving for break. No early dismissals will be permitted unless approved by Assistant Camp Director or Camp Directors. 13. Be a constructive member of the staff contributing in every way possible to the health, harmony, and happiness of the Camp Allegheny family. 14. Pray that each camper will come to know Christ as Savior. 15. Agree to voice criticisms to immediate supervisor (Dining Hall Supervisor). 16. To be fully invested in the overall goal of the Camp Allegheny experience by avoiding distractions which include personal relationships, cell phone usage, and any other electronic devices. 17. Evaluate the current season and make suggestions for the following season. 18. Assist where needed for the benefit of the campers and the smooth operation of camp.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Ability to participate fully in the total camp program. 2. Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity. 3. Ability to communicate and work with groups.

$1,350.00 per month
