GED Full Job Description Summary:
The food service worker is responsible for the overall preparation and distribution of food items within the center. The hours are 6:30am-3:00pm Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Prepare and distribute the established menu of food items to each classroom. This includes breakfast, lunch and snack. Maintain appropriate health and safety standards in the kitchen at all times. Clean and disinfect all food preparation and food service areas on a daily basis. Wash and disinfect all dishes, utensils, bottles, etc. Restock all dishes, utensils, bottles and snacks in the classrooms, as well as monitoring inventory. Be knowledgeable of any allergies within the center and make appropriate meal accommodations or substitutions. Occasionally assist in classrooms, answer the phones, watch and answer the door, and allow time for other employees to take a break.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum 1 year of experience in food service industry, specifically food preparation or cooking. Must possess or obtain required state and federal clearances. Sneakers or similar slip-resistant footwear are required. Proper attendance is required. Employees are expected to arrive on time, every day, able and available to work. Travel may be required in

Must be able to stand for long periods throughout the workday with intermittent periods of sitting, walking, and occasional bending, twisting, stooping, reaching and grasping as necessary to carry out essential job duties. Dexterity requirements range from coordinated movements of fingers and hands to simple movements of feet, legs, and torso as necessary to carry out essential job duties. Lifting and carrying of children and/or objects up to 50 pounds.
