Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Food Services Director or Assistant Food Services Manager, the Food Service Worker performs a variety of duties directly related to the set-up, service, breakdown, and clean-up resulting from the provision of food service to patients, clients, residents, employees and guests of Allied Services.

EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Institutional or commercial food service experience preferred.
SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective communication with staff and visitors. Must be able to read. Ability to perform mathematical functions (simple calculations, conversions) required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Moderate Work:
duties require exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally (approx 10-33% of shift), and/or up to 10lbs. of force frequently (approx 33-66% of the time), and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects (i.e., occasional patient transfers). Position involves bending, reaching, and stooping (occasionally in strained position) throughout shift. Individual will be required to stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to transport self throughout facility is required. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized care appropriate to the age specific need and culture of the patient served.
ACCIDENT OR HEALTH HAZARDS
Individual may be subject to minor burns, scrapes, cuts, slips and falls in performance of normal duties.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Works in a well-lit, ventilated area. Occasional variances in temperatures (hot/cold) in performance of normal duties.
