The Banquet Captain is responsible leading the Banquet team to the highest standard for all group functions and promoting a safe work environment. Qualifications Overseeing the set-up and break down of Banquet function. Supervise food & beverage service throughout Banquet functions to ensure quality service and product quality. Assist with the planning, organizing and execution of all Banquet functions including, but not limited to, breakfast, coffee breaks, luncheons, dinners, cocktail reception, etc. Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the meal service and respond to requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner. Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures Ability to train new Banquet staff and work alongside them to develop skillset/knowledge. Maintains current knowledge of hotel culture, amenities, and services, events in the area, points of interest, and services in the area Works as part of a team Portrays a positive friendly and professional attitude at all times, always smiles and greets guests warmly and genuinely Provides prompt, professional, friendly, and personalized service to our guests Provides help and support to all fellow colleagues Communicates to FOH and BOH support staff including managers and chefs Learns from and teaches fellow colleagues (learn by listening, lead by example) Performs opening side work and set up station Attends and participates in any training sessions, department meetings Provides professional and exceptional food and beverage service Records and places proper food and beverage orders in POS Proper serving of wine and alcohol (with awareness) Presentation of Banquet Check to group client for signature Collects cash from guests/performs credit card authorizations and services Properly executes closing procedures Completes Banquet Recap for all events Manages the linen inventory to ensure proper par levels Basic reading, writing and math skills with some laundry experience preferred. You may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays. This job requires ability to perform the following: regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently standing up and moving about the work area, frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility, frequent bending, stooping and kneeling, frequently working in areas of high temperatures around heavy equipment. Previous hospitality experience preferred
