Assist in preparation and serving the appropriate quantities of food to meet planned menu requirements. Maintain high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, safety practices, and customer service.Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist with general kitchen tasks o Cook and prepare meals according to the menu o Serve food according to meal schedules and procedures o Ensure portion control o Maintain order and cleanliness of the kitchen o Follow Safety guidelines when operating equipment o Follow all industry standard guidelines for food safety and sanitation o Ensure counting and claiming process are followed according toUSDA/TDA
guidelines o If assigned, carry out other specific kitchen roles (e.g. dishwasher, cashier, push meals to other areas of school etc.) o Provide good customer service to maintain good customer relationships o Process cash handlings accurate and in timely fashionQualifications:
Education, Experience, and/or Certification(s)Education Requirements:
High School diploma or general education diploma (GED) preferred; may substitute equivalent work experience for diploma preference.Experience Requirements:
Experience in school food service/food serviceSpecial Skills/Certifications:
Possess current Food Handler Permit (or the ability to obtain within the first 20 days of hire), Ability to understand food preparation and safety instructions. Knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures. Capable of operating small and large kitchen equipment and tools.Required Skills/Abilities:
Communication Skills:
Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel, students, and parents.Bilingual Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and apply understand and to carry out instructions in written or oral English.Technology:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to learn and use software as necessary (POS, clock in and out etc.). Ability to use basic office equipment. Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
