Job Description

E.A.T.S. is looking for an Assistant Catering Server who serves food to patrons. Responsible for service set-up and clean-up regarding the service of breakfast and lunch at EATS. Relies on instructions and established guidelines to perform job functions. Works under immediate supervision. Greet and assist guests in a friendly and welcoming manner upon entry and exit. Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and process transactions accurately. Assist with daily storefront setup, including turning on equipment, brewing coffee, and following opening procedures. Restock items at EATS and complete opening and closing checklists as assigned. Pick up breakfast and lunch items from the main kitchen using carts, hot boxes, and other equipment. Maintain cleanliness of the work area by washing service trays, cleaning surfaces, sweeping, and mopping. Wash EATS dishes using the three-compartment sink and/or dish machine. Keep all equipment and work areas clean and well organized. Take and record food temperatures for hot and cold wells as directed. Label, date, and rotate packaged food following FIFO guidelines. Follow supervisor instructions and complete additional tasks as assigned. Report to work on time, in a clean uniform, and provide reliable, customer-focused service. Must be a current
UVU Student Food Handlers Permit:
If you don't have one, you must obtain one within the first 30 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
A year of experience in the field or in a related area. Strong customer service skills with a friendly, helpful attitude Basic knowledge of common restaurant practices and procedures (training provided as needed) Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods of time Ability to read and follow written instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division Ability to solve practical problems and adapt to different situations Ability to understand and follow instructions given verbally, in writing, or through schedules/diagrams Ability to respond professionally to questions from guests, co-workers, and supervisors
