Under the guidance of the Dining Manager, the Assistant Dining Manager is responsible for the service in WCBay's various dining spaces on campus: The Overlook Cafe, The Beachfront and The Pub. This role ensures these areas operate within established objectives, standards, policies and procedures. The Assistant Dining Manager Utilizes the principles of CCL Hospitality Group in the execution of daily operations, and manages the service teams through teamwork and empowerment. What You'll Do In This Role Embraces CCL Hospitality Group and Westminster-Canterbury's community philosophies, utilizing them as their foundation for managing team members and operations. Works to ensure a quality and enjoyable dining experience for residents, guests and team members. Supervises Dining Room Supervisors and Culinary Leadership in the performance of their duties. Promotes professional growth and development of all team members, supervisors and culinary leadership, as well as addressing areas of opportunity. Responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing levels. Including managing schedules, overseeing hiring and training, evaluating performance and handling disciplinary actions of Supervisors and Culinary Leadership (in accordance with the established policies and procedures). Attend 'Show Time' stand-up huddles before each meal period for all service Team Members to ensure that all departmental standards are being upheld. Circulates in all dining areas during meal periods to field resident/guest comments pertaining to service and food quality. This entails table touches to all residents and guests, inquiring about their dining experience and encouraging feedback. Additionally, evaluate and identify trending verbatim from Happy or Not comments. Assists in training, onboarding, and mentoring new dining staff to ensure consistent performance and service standards. Maintains excellent relations with all residents and develops close working relationships with Administration, and all Team Members throughout the community. Coordinates and follows through with all resident special requests. Implements programs to improve service and enhance the satisfaction of the community to current and future residents. Managing Food Cost through FIFO, inventory control, par levels, staff training, plate audits, portion control and reducing waste to increase profitability. Ensures that proper health and sanitation procedures and regulations are followed in all dining and kitchen areas. This includes tasting, temperature logs, station sanitation. Executing marketing, advertisement and other dining special planning. Uphold continuity with the WAG, pricing, MUS and Nutritional information. This includes overlooking daily, weekly and monthly menus; counter top menu identifiers, digital menus and resident/guest menus. Additionally maintain standards for all "customer facing" work stations. Responsible for POS operations, maintenance and clean-up. Coordinates and ensures that cash controls are in place in all dining areas where cash is handled. All other duties as assigned. Able to exercise discretion and work independently. Ability to adapt to changing service needs, special events, and varied work hours. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift, work on your feet throughout the shift, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, sit, climb or balance, and reach. Must be able to stand six to eight hours per day. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Able to operate kitchen equipment (including fire extinguisher). While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and taste or smell. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, chemicals, cold, heat. The Experience You'll Bring Required High School Diploma 4+ years of restaurant management experience Must possess comprehensive knowledge of food safety/sanitation procedures & practices, dining room service techniques, customer service excellence, plate presentation, sanitation, food handling, personnel administration and special functions. ServSafe certified, or will become certified in the first year of employment. . Must maintain a professional appearance Flu-Vaccinated Preferred Associate's Degree or higher (a plus if studies are in the Food Management or Culinary field) Google Suite experience Comfortability working with a POS system Experience in the Long Term Care Industry. Experience in building and maintaining training programs. Experience in customer service training.Compensation & Benefits Compensation Range:
