WHAT YOU'LL DO
Be the face of MCR for new hires and team members; exemplify MCR's values and set a great example by always demonstrating excellent guest service and professionalism. Practice, support and promote the mission, vision, and values of Muckleshoot Casino Resort. Constantly monitor staff performance in all phases of service and job functions, ensuring that all procedures are executed as expected. Interview, recommend hiring, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, resolve problems, provide open communication, recommend, and conduct performance reviews and corrective action, as appropriate. Conduct all on-boarding training programs and have regular meetings to increase staff performance and knowledge. Prepare weekly work schedule in accordance with staffing guidelines and labor forecasts. Conduct pre-function meetings with Servers and review all information pertinent to set-up and service of group and make sure staff is prepared and ready 15 minutes before function begins. Prepare rooms for use; adjusting lights, sounds volumes, adjusting curtains, and temperature as needed before guests arrive. Inspect table and bar set-ups, check for cleanliness, neatness and agreement with group requirement and departmental standards, rectify deficiencies with respective personnel. Inspect service line for cleanliness, attractiveness, and layout; ensure agreement with function order and departmental standards; resolve any problems. Ensure replenishment of items as specified on event orders and requested by group contact. Assist in planning, organizing, and executing all banquet functions including, but not limited to, breakfast, coffee breaks, luncheons, dinners, cocktail receptions, galas, etc. Meet group coordinator/host(ess) prior to function, make introduction and ensure that all arrangements are agreeable. Communicate additional meal requirements and special request to the Kitchen. Lead by example in all areas including punctuality, appearance, work quality, and assist Banquet staff with their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests. Ensure that unused food is returned to the Kitchen, that designated condiments are broken down and properly stored and that all banquet supplies is checked and returned to designated storage areas. Ensure the department operates effectively on a day-to-day basis, confirming company standards are met and delivered consistently with attention to detail. Review and coordinate action to any relevant internal and external audits to enhance the environment and achieve positive consistent results. Maintain updated knowledge of all MIC and department policies and procedures. Comply with statutory and company requirements regarding health, safety, and food safety, and ensure strict adherence by team members through consistent training. Complete administrative tasks as assigned by the Banquet Manager. Assist with conference/meeting arrangements involving audio/visual requirements. Assist with, installing, and connecting equipment, such as microphones, amplifiers, lights, and check A/V equipment's notify maintenance for malfunctions. Create BEOs for distribution, leads BEO discussion for assigned events. Responsible for follow-up circulation and timely communication with proper departments. Ensure accurate final BEO calculations and final payment when adding food or beverage for the night of for extra guests or extra items. Create, maintain, and facilitate a positive work environment; promotes positive team member relations and reports issues to the appropriate personnel. Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Ability to obtain a Class III B+ gaming license. 3 (three) years of hospitality experience and at least 3 (three) years of successful experience in a lead position within a large multi-faceted banquet/catering department. Captain experience must include responsibility for a large (15+) staff, running multiple functions simultaneously and overseeing functions of up to 350+ guests preferred. Must maintain a valid WA State Health Card/Food Handlers Permit. Must maintain a valid Liquor Service Permit.
HOW YOU'LL BE SUCCESSFUL
Knowledge of special menu items, food preparation and presentation, presentation of wines and liquor, all room set-ups, table set-ups, and banquet department procedures. Knowledge and skill in using Microsoft Office Suite and P.O.S. systems. Knowledge of health & safety standards, and safety regulations as required. Skilled in excellent communication, both oral and written, and organizational. Read, write, and speak English fluently. Ability to demonstrate personal accountability, requiring little or no immediate supervision. Ability to work efficiently and positively in a high pressure and fast-paced environment. Ability to demonstrate etiquette in table setting and service. Ability to train and coach diverse staff. Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
