Description Overall Responsibility:
As a Butcher Blend Route Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for representing Chef Merito in a specific sales territory, maintaining a direct store delivery route, growing sales, ensuring product availability, and building strong relationships with Meat Managers, Kitchen Managers and retail customers. "You will be a BB specialist representing Chef Merito's BB product line" This role requires excellent organizational and communication skills, a strong customer-service mindset, and the ability to work independently while meeting sales objectives.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Conduct Butcher Blend presentations and demonstrations to butcher shops, and food service establishments. Manage assigned sales route, delivering Chef Merito Butcher Blend products to butcher shops/markets, restaurants, food service establishments while maintaining DSD services to and for retail customers. Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of orders and service according to the assigned Route Planner. Manage and maintain adequate inventory levels and accurate LOT numbers. Build and maintain strong relationships with all customers' managers and staff. Optimize shelf space and ensure proper product placement and merchandising in stores. Monitor and maintain customer's meat departments and kitchens Butcher Blend inventory levels to prevent out-of-stock. Upsell products to existing accounts. Prospect to identify opportunities to open new accounts. Execute promotional programs, discounts, and new product launches - butcher blend items. Generate invoices, collect payments from cash-on-delivery (COD) customers and ensure deposits are accurate and timely. Maintain clean and organized in-store displays. Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle. Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, and customer service standards.
Skills & Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma or equivalent (required); bachelor's degree in business, sales, or related field (preferred). 1-3 years of sales or delivery experience in the food industry (DSD experience preferred). Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required). Ability to lift and carry products weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver 300lbs product drums. Knowledge of food safety standards and practices. Ownership of delivery vehicle - box truck (15') with liftgate. Bilingual - English and Spanish Strong sales and negotiation skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Customer-focused with strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
