Food Handler Certification Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Butcher is responsible for cutting, trimming, deboning, preparing, and packaging meat products according to company specifications and food safety standards. This role requires knowledge of meat processing techniques, proper knife handling, quality control, and adherence to sanitation and workplace safety procedures. Key Responsibilities Cut, trim, debone, and prepare beef, pork, poultry, and other meat products. Portion meat according to customer, production, or retail specifications. Grind, season, and prepare specialty meat products as required. Inspect products for quality, freshness, and compliance with company standards. Operate and maintain knives, saws, grinders, slicers, and other processing equipment safely. Package, label, weigh, and price products accurately. Follow all food safety, sanitation, HACCP, GMP, and workplace safety regulations. Maintain a clean and organized work area, equipment, and storage facilities. Monitor inventory levels and assist with receiving and storing products. Remove waste and dispose of materials according to company procedures. Assist customers with product selection and special cutting requests when applicable. Meet daily production and quality goals. Qualifications Previous butcher, meat cutter, meat processing, or food production experience preferred. Knowledge of meat cuts, trimming techniques, and processing procedures. Ability to safely use knives, saws, grinders, and related equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and repetitive hand movements. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier loads with assistance. Ability to work in refrigerated or cold environments. Work Environment Meat processing facility, warehouse, distribution center, grocery store, or butcher shop. Exposure to cold temperatures, sharp tools, machinery, and raw meat products. Fast-paced environment requiring adherence to strict safety and sanitation standards.

$23.00 per hour
