Meat Department Manager Sanwa Food Group - 3.0 Tampa, FL Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications Food management Customer service Forklift Team management Receiving shipments Pallet jack Delegation Performance evaluation Full Job Description Meat Department Manager As a Meat Manager you will provide overall leadership to the Meat Team working closely with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Managers in order to ensure the success of the store and the Meat Department through excellent customer service and a demonstrated passion for food. This position has accountability for all aspects of department operations, to include but not limited to, profitability, expense control, ordering, merchandising, shrink, labor management and regulatory compliance. Candidates must be prepared to think, learn and contribute all while consistently communicating and modeling Sanwa food Group vision and goals. Excellent communication, multitasking and self-motivation skills are essential to your success. Successful department managers also demonstrate a high level of integrity with department products, employees, vendors, and our customers

MAIN JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
High energy, enthusiastic, and displays an affinity for our products, core values, and company philosophy. Extensive knowledge of meat products. Maximize productivity and efficiency through proper scheduling. Demonstrated ability to work with computers and computer-based programs, to include but not limited to, ordering, sign creation, inventory and email communication. Monitor the cleanliness of the department through, assigning tasks and following up on the department cleaning schedules. Maintain proper product assortment, merchandising and inventory control. Demonstrate advanced product knowledge; maintain awareness of new products and educate employees on products. Reviews inventory for product rotation on a daily basis to prevent shrinkage and damages. Follow all company guidelines and procedures, to include but not limited to, safety and sanitation. Set and achieve the highest standards in retail execution focusing on maximizing sales and gross profit. Maximize productivity and efficiency through proper scheduling. Ensures the quality and freshness of products for sale and accuracy of product signage The ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department is required. Highly motivated with a sense of urgency, organized and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment at all times with all levels of employees. Exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezer, outdoors, etc.) Previous management experience in the retail, grocery, restaurant or food service industry a plus. Excellent communication and leadership skills and possess basic math skills for ordering and inventory. Shipping & receiving knowledge a must. Performs additional duties, responsibilities and projects as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to stock merchandise and lift up to 50 pounds Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store Open availability
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment Ability to provide and lead others to provide prompt and courteous customer service Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication that enhances the growth and job performance of direct reports Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures Ability to establish goals, guide employee performance to ensure the quality and completion of work assignments Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others Ability to understand and apply management principles concerning budgeting, personnel costs, and expenses Ability to safely and properly operate equipment, forklift & pallet jack Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in meat management role 2-4 years management/leadership experience a must
