The Village Beach Market (VBM) is an upscale specialty market in Vero Beach seeking an experienced, energetic, and customer-focused Meat Cutter / Butcher Team Member to join our growing team. Position Responsibilities Customer Service & Hospitality Deliver prompt, friendly, and professional customer service with genuine hospitality. Greet and assist customers at both the meat and deli counters as needed. Slice, cut, weigh, package, and price products accurately. Recommend products and provide cooking suggestions using meat and product knowledge. Answer phones, take special orders, and ensure accuracy and attention to detail. Help create exceptional food experiences for every guest. Meat Cutting & Production Perform daily meat cutting according to production guidelines. Maintain fresh meat and seafood displays including rotation, signage, and presentation. Wrap and package products to maintain freshness and quality standards. Assist with inventory, deliveries, stocking, facing, and rotating merchandise. Organize and maintain walk-in coolers, refrigerators, and freezers. Monitor temperatures and report equipment issues promptly. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and quality control procedures. Safely operate equipment including grinders, slicers, cubers, and other department tools. Team Responsibilities Must be a team player with a positive mindset and willingness to support others. Be willing to assist at the deli counter and other departments when customer service needs arise. Support, encourage, and respect fellow team members. Maintain excellent communication with managers and teammates. Present a professional appearance with strong hygiene standards. Perform duties safely, efficiently, and with a sense of ownership. Qualifications Required No experience necessary if you have great work ethic, have a great attitude and you are reliable . Must be 18 years or older Ability to safely use meat department equipment Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) Authorized to work in the United States Preferred Customer service experience in grocery, food service, retail, butcher shop, or hospitality environments High School diploma or equivalent Physical Requirements / Work Environment This position includes: Standing and walking for extended periods Repetitive hand and arm movement Bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying Frequent lifting of 30-40 lbs and occasional lifting up to 90 lbs Working in refrigerated environments and exposure to heat, smoke, cold temperatures, odors, and allergens Continuous interaction with customers and team members in a fast-paced environment Why Join VBM?
