JOB SUMMARY
The Meat Wrapper is responsible for preparing, wrapping, weighing, pricing, labeling, and merchandising all meat department products in accordance with company standards for quality, sanitation, and customer service. This position supports meat cutting operations, the service counter, packaged meat, and smoked-meat production for the deli. The Meat Wrapper ensures all meat products are handled safely, presented attractively, and prepared in a timely manner.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1.
Customer Interaction:
Treat all customers, teammates, and vendors with respect and courtesy. Professionally address customer questions regarding meat products, preparation, availability, and pricing. Assist customers at the meat service counter, providing product information, pulling requested items, and packaging special orders. Clearly communicate store and department policies when needed. 2.Meat Wrapping & Department Responsibilities:
Wrap, weigh, price, and label meat products accurately and in compliance with company and health regulations. Ensure wrapped products are neat, appealing, and properly merchandised in display cases. Assist butchers and meat cutters by preparing materials, organizing products, rotating stock, and supporting workflow. Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) to maintain product freshness. Assist with service counter, and prep or the butchers and smoker Stock packaged meat, fresh meat and any other items in the department. Reduce or pull items that are close dated, expired, or not up to department quality standards Assist with the smoking of meats for the deli, including preparation, monitoring, labeling, and packaging of smoked products as directed. Maintain sanitation standards by cleaning work surfaces, equipment, packaging areas, and display cases frequently. Responsible for end-of-day and shift cleanup, ensuring all equipment, counters, tools, and surrounding areas meet sanitation requirements. Monitor and record cooler and freezer temperatures; report inconsistencies immediately. Restock packaging supplies, labels, seasonings, and department materials as needed. Perform minor equipment checks and report malfunctioning machinery to management. Support department operations by helping with trimming, packaging specialty meats, stocking cases, and assisting with deli service tasks when directed. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times. 3.Safety and Compliance:
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations per company policy and state guidelines. Use proper PPE, handwashing, and glove protocols at all times. Operate meat department equipment safely, including wrappers, labelers, slicers, smokers, and scales. Immediately report maintenance issues, temperature concerns, product quality issues, or safety hazards. Ensure all products are stored, handled, and displayed at correct temperatures. 4.Customer Experience :
Maintain clean, visually appealing display cases with fresh product rotations and attractive presentation. Respond to and resolve customer concerns to ensure a positive shopping experience. Assist with customer special orders and requests when necessary. Support storewide customer service efforts by assisting other departments when needed. 5.Additional Duties:
Perform any other legal and ethical tasks assigned by the Meat Manager, Facility Lead, Loss Prevention & Facility Manager, Vice President, or President.QUALIFICATIONS

Work primarily in refrigerated settings with exposure to cold temperatures. Exposure to raw meat, smoked meat production, cleaning chemicals, and moisture. Navigate slick floors and areas requiring constant attention to safety. Perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for long periods, bending, lifting up to 60 pounds, and climbing step stools or ladders up to 15 feet. Safely operate knives, saws, slicers, smokers, scales, wrappers, and other meat department equipment.Job Type:
