Job Description:
Responsible for the operation and conduct of the assigned game in accordance with Gaming Procedure, internal controls and the rules and procedures of poker.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position) Deals cards to players and shuffles as appropriate according to established rules and regulations. Announces winning hand to players. Ensures that correct "rake" are taken from the winning pot. Verifies beginning and ending chip and money balances and confirms supporting documentation. Receives fills and distributes credits. Ensures that wagers are placed before cards are dealt. Monitors game and notifies supervisor of any disputes, problems or concerns with either a patron or the progress of the game. Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times. Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis) High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior guest service, poker experience and/or poker certificate required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
(Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.): Must obtain and maintain a Virginia Lottery license. Must successfully pass background check. Must successfully pass drug screening. Must be twenty-one (21) years of age. Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.
KNOWLEDGE OF
Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations. Hard Rock operations. Policies and procedures as well as knowledge of and ability to identify various cheating techniques.
ABILITY TO
Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations. Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed. Ability to deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable entertainment experience. Commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals. Must present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional appearance.
