Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic culinary team as a Part-Time Sushi Chef, where your passion for Japanese cuisine and exceptional food craftsmanship will shine. In this role, you will be a creative force behind our sushi offerings, ensuring each dish meets the highest standards of quality, presentation, and flavor, for classic rolls, nigiri and sashimi to our specialty signature rolls. You will work in a vibrant, fast-paced environment that values innovation, teamwork, and culinary excellence. Your expertise will help elevate our dining experience and delight our guests with authentic, beautifully crafted sushi. Current position is for Tuesday lunch and dinner only but may be changed for other shifts or additional shifts added. Duties Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi dishes with precision and artistry, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards Maintain strict food safety and sanitation practices in accordance with health regulations and company policies Manage inventory levels of ingredients, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste through effective stock control Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food production and ensure timely service during busy periods Assist in menu planning by suggesting new sushi creations and seasonal specials to keep offerings exciting Supervise junior team members when needed, providing guidance on techniques, safety procedures, and quality standards Oversee kitchen cleanliness and organization to promote an efficient workflow and a safe working environment Assist with preparation and production for catering orders and potentially as off-site sushi chef for events Qualifications Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within fine dining or high-volume restaurant settings Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and ingredient handling Previous supervisory or team management experience in a food service environment Familiarity with inventory management, food safety protocols, and dietary considerations in a restaurant setting Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead by example and foster teamwork Experience with banquet service, catering, or large-scale food production is a plus Passion for culinary innovation combined with a commitment to exceptional customer service Embark on this exciting journey where your culinary talents will thrive! Pay:
$22.00 - $27.00 per hour
