For By The Sea -our newest coastal venture opening this July - we're searching for an Executive Chef who knows how to balance culinary excellence with the grit and determination it takes to bring a restaurant to life. We're looking for a leader who can create exceptional guest experiences through thoughtful food, inspire and develop a team, and embrace the excitement (and occasional chaos) of an opening with confidence, creativity, and a hands-on approach. If you thrive in high-energy environments, lead with both passion and precision, and believe great restaurants are built through collaboration, consistency, and attention to every detail, we'd love to meet you. Think polished, but never pretentious. Coastal, but elevated. Organized enough to execute a busy service, adaptable enough to build systems, menus, culture, and a kitchen from the ground up. This isn't just an Executive Chef role-it's an opportunity to help define the culinary identity of Black Swan Hospitality's newest venture from day one.
What You'll Do:
Collaborate with the Operations Team to develop, cost, and maintain recipes. Recruit, train, and manage all back-of-house staff, building a cohesive and high-performing culinary team. Oversee daily operations including lunch and dinner service, production kitchen management, and private event execution. Lead hands-on training in the kitchen, ensuring excellence in preparation, consistency, and presentation. Manage purchasing, inventory, vendor relationships, and ensure timely, quality deliveries. Create seasonal, market-driven menus that reflect coastal sophistication and innovation. Uphold the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen organization. Monitor and manage food and labor costs, ensuring efficient, profitable kitchen operations. Foster a culture of mentorship, learning, and creativity within the culinary team.
Who Are We Looking For:
3+ years of experience as an Executive Chef or high-level kitchen leadership in upscale, high-volume restaurants or luxury hospitality. A strategic thinker with strong financial acumen and proven success in food and labor cost management. A hands-on leader passionate about training and inspiring your team to consistently perform at their best. Creative, collaborative, and driven to deliver exceptional guest experiences through innovative cuisine. Expert in BOH operations, systems, and kitchen infrastructure. Supported by Black Swan Hospitality, you'll have the opportunity to craft a kitchen, mentor a team, and leave your mark on a concept designed for long-term success. Opening this July, we're building something special-and we're looking for the right chef to help bring it to life.
