Job Description

Chef / Cook - Behavioral Health Treatment Center Alta Centers - Los Angeles, CA Alta Centers is seeking a reliable, experienced, and budget-conscious Chef/Cook to prepare nutritious and appealing meals for clients residing in our behavioral health and substance abuse treatment program. This position is responsible for planning, preparing, and serving lunch and dinner for approximately 12-20 residents Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate is organized, creative, able to work independently, and capable of maintaining high standards of food quality while operating within an established food budget. Schedule Monday through Friday Day shift Full-time or part-time depending on experience Responsibilities Prepare and serve lunch and dinner for 12-20 residents daily Create nutritious, balanced, and appealing menus Accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special meal requests Purchase and manage food inventory within budget guidelines Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen Follow all food safety and health regulations Monitor food costs and minimize waste Coordinate meal planning with management as needed Maintain kitchen supplies and inventory levels Qualifications Previous experience as a cook or chef preferred Experience preparing meals for groups of 12-20 people Ability to work independently and efficiently Strong organizational and time-management skills Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards Ability to manage food costs and work within a budget Reliable transportation and punctual attendance Food Handler Card required (or ability to obtain one) Preferred Qualifications Experience in residential treatment, healthcare, hospitality, or catering environments Experience preparing healthy and diverse menus Knowledge of special diets, including vegetarian, gluten-free, and low-sodium options Compensation Competitive compensation based on experience If you enjoy cooking, take pride in your work, and can consistently provide high-quality meals in a professional environment, we encourage you to apply.
