Working an early 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM shift, you'll prepare fresh, high-quality food that complements our beverage program and sets the tone for each day. This 4-hour role offers a focused, hands-on kitchen experience in a welcoming community atmosphere — ideal for a skilled cook looking for a consistent morning commitment while growing their craft in a collaborative café setting. Responsibilities Prepare and serve fresh breakfast and café food items during the 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM shift, ensuring quality and consistency on every plate Execute mise en place and kitchen prep before service to support smooth, efficient operations Collaborate with baristas and front-of-house staff to coordinate food and beverage timing for a seamless guest experience Follow all food safety standards, proper handling procedures, and sanitation protocols at all times Manage inventory of kitchen supplies and ingredients; communicate low stock to management proactively Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment before, during, and after the shift Assist in developing and rotating seasonal café menu items as needed Prepare light snacks, baked goods, and made-to-order café dishes with care and attention to presentation Experience & qualifications Previous experience in a professional kitchen, café, or food service environment strongly preferred Solid understanding of food safety regulations and proper food handling and storage techniques Ability to work independently during early morning hours with minimal supervision Strong time management skills and the ability to maintain quality during a fast-paced service window Familiarity with breakfast, brunch, or café-style menu preparation is a plus Experience coordinating with front-of-house staff or baristas in a café setting is a plus ServSafe certification or equivalent food handler's certificate preferred
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
