Job Description

Mother Wolf is Chef Evan Funke's homage to the Eternal City and culinary heritage of La Cucina Romana. This flagship location celebrates California's unique and fertile growing regions which produce some of the world's most pristine seasonal ingredients. Chef Funke's long standing relationships with a close knit network of California's finest family farms, allows a culinary approach that embodies the true cooking traditions of Italy. We are seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for pastry-making, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality pastries consistently. As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of sweet and savory pastries, desserts, and baked goods in accordance with our recipes and standards.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods. Measure and mix ingredients accurately, following recipes and portion guidelines. Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to ensure proper cooking and consistency. Ensure that all pastries are presented and plated attractively, adhering to our aesthetic standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen, including equipment maintenance and proper storage of ingredients. Assist in inventory management, including ordering and stocking pastry supplies. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new pastry recipes and menu items. Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations at all times. Provide support during busy periods and special events, as needed. Assist other stations as needed. Bring all tools and equipment and maintain in proper working order
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role in a professional, high volume kitchen environment. A culinary degree or relevant certification from a culinary school is preferred but not required. Strong knowledge of pastry-making techniques, baking methods, and ingredients. Ability to follow recipes accurately and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent attention to detail and creativity in pastry presentation and decoration. Good organizational and time management skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed. A positive attitude and passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences. Food Handler Certificate preferred but not required prior to employment. Certification will be required upon starting employment at company's expense. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks. Must be able to carry 30 pounds or more
