Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing sushi and dishes with precision, creativity, and a commitment to excellence. Your expertise will elevate our dining experience, delighting guests with beautifully crafted sushi that meets the highest standards of food safety and quality. Responsibilities Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, rolls with consistent quality and presentation. Ensure all food handling and preparation adhere to strict food safety standards and sanitation guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, including proper storage of ingredients. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service during busy periods. Handle food with care, using precise knife skills to cut fish, vegetables, and other ingredients efficiently. Support catering events or special functions by preparing sushi platters and ensuring high-quality presentation. Qualifications Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within the food industry, especially in fine dining or restaurant settings. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, food handling procedures, and kitchen safety protocols. Demonstrated proficiency in menu planning and innovative sushi creation. Excellent knife skills and experience with various cooking methods related to Japanese cuisine. Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus, emphasizing attention to dietary restrictions and nutritional considerations. Prior experience in food service, catering, or restaurant environments that require quick thinking and excellent customer service skills.
